II. Establish a generational Impact (Proverbs 13:22-24)
A. Practice long-term stewardship
i. A "good man" practices and plans well ahead to provide spiritual values and a Godly heritage for their grandchildren.
B. Understand your influence
i. The next generation is an "unplowed field" or "fallow ground" for potential growth.
C. Don't be afraid to administer correction.
i. Provide structure and consequence out of love and compassion, not anger or hatred.
III. Recall the covenantal bond with God through your Patriarchs
i. A covenant is a formal, solemn, and binding agreement or relationship characterized by mutual promises and oaths.
A. Abrahamic Covenant, The Covenant of Promise (Galatians 3:17-18)
i. The establishment of belief in Jesus Christ makes us spiritual heirs to the promises that were made to Abraham.
B. Davidic Covenant, The Everlasting Covenant (Psalms 89:3-4)
i. The covenant that established David's lineage to the kingship of Israel, leading up to the anointing of Jesus Christ.
IV. Leave a lasting impression. (Colossians 3:23-24)
i. It reflects values, actions, and emotional influence on the hearts of others.
